Dress Code: Anime Expo 2011

We were all caught up in the excitement of Anime Expo that we nearly forgot to take pictures of all the fashionable people we spotted, but here are a few we did manage to get.

This girl was rockin’ a very cool studded vest and purse.

Wow! This girl was wearing an awesome necklace. I think we
found a lot of inspiration in the necklace piece that’s right up our
alley.
A Shoudou Magic “On the Go” entry just wouldn’t be complete
without some very cute nail art. We love to see people getting
creative with their nails and these sure do have a crafty flare to
them.
Of course, we have the almost mandatory glittery nails!

On the Go

Anime Expo is right around the corner and it’s getting pretty hectic with all the preparations we’re doing, but even with all the running around from store to store picking up supplies, we still manage to spot a few women with some very fashionable nails.

On the go

We ran into a customer at Michaels arts and craft store and stopped her to ask about her nails. I think this is a very cool design and the colors are fitting.

On the go

Today we went out to the movie and stop by one of our favorite restaurants, Fuji. Our waitress had some pretty nice looking nail art so we asked her for a picture. She looked a bit uncomfortable and then confesses she had done them herself and didn't feel very confident. We assured her that they were cute and she should show them off. She smiled and gave us a photo for our blog :D Thank you friendly waitress form Fuji!

Its funny how no matter the situation we always manage to get distracted by something glittery and flashy!

On the go

My sister was at school and saw a lady with acrylic sculpting on her nails. They had flowers and strawberries.

On the go

Today was the Zombie Walk in Los Angeles and we decided to dress up and attend this bloody event. Everyone was instructed to wait at the NoHo metro station so that we could ride the same train to the Hollywood station. There was lots of interesting characters walking around this day, but no matter how much blood or strange acts were going on we will always notice the nail art! These two ladies were laughing and admiring all the crazy zombies and were a bit taken back that we wanted to take their picture.

On the go

Showing off a bit, i think so! ;) These nails Marice and I designed just for Anime Expo. I some Shoudou Magic jewelry and these eye catching nails all day for the second day at Anime Expo. Amazingly i was able to do a lot of things i didn't think i would be able to. While we walked around handing out cards to people who would seem interested in Shoudou Magic, i it was a great time to show them the things we can make. We got some really positive feedback with these :D

On the go

Its nice to see that even elders can sport these acrylic nails :)

This look consists of colored acrylic powders in Opal glitter for the base and Purple, White and Green which are sculpted into leaves and flowers. Swarovski flat back crystals are places in the center of the flowers. The lady informed us that this is a Mexican design done by a student.

On the go (in the past)

Getting inspired for some nail art is never easy when you are living a busy and routine life like we do. We are always on the look out for something special or someone special to get our hearts going. Thankfully we are always surrounded by artistic people and people who just love the art so we dont have to try as hard :)

(5/6/09 @ Micheals art and craft store)

Going out is a perfect time to find what kind of nail fashion people are wearing.
